Nach einem langen Reisetag per Zug, Auto, Flugzeug und Fähre sind wir auf der kleinen Insel “Hailuoto” angekommen. Auf den Bildern seht ihr unser kommendes Zuhause für die nächsten 4 Wochen, wo wir mit Jürgen Hendlmeier unser zweites Album aufnehmen werden. Unfassbare Idylle hier, direkt am bottnischen Meerbusen unterm Leuchtturm. Ab jetzt wird aufgebaut und soundgecheckt. Wir sind begeistert!
After a whole day of travelling including car, bus, train, plane and ferry-boat we reached the small island of Hailuoto. This is going to be our home for the next 4(!) weeks to record our 2nd album together with Jürgen Hendlmeier. Today we start to set up and soundcheck. We are thrilled!
Ende Februar ist es so weit. Wir werden ein zweites Mal nach Finnland fliegen, um das nächste Album aufzunehmen. Das Studio liegt diesmal etwas weiter nördlich, auf der Insel “Hailuoto“. Die ist mit 35 Quadratkilometer Grundfläche recht überschaubar und wird von 1000 Menschen bewohnt. Dort werden wir mit “Patience Camp” – Produzent Jürgen Hendlmeier 10-12 neue Songs einspielen. Wir stecken gerade mitten in den Vorbereitungen und freuen uns jetzt schon megamäßig auf die spektakuläre Natur. Das Haus liegt direkt am zugefrorenen Meer unter dem Leuchtturm am Ende der einzigen Strasse und zwischen Dezember und März existiert eine offizielle Eis-Strasse, die die Insel mit der auf dem Festland gelegenen Großstadt “Oulu” verbindet. Dort findet nicht nur die alljährliche Luftgitarrenweltmeisterschaft statt, sondern wir werden dort am 17. März ein Konzert spielen, im Club 45 Special. Wir halten euch auf dem Laufenden – Aufregend, aufregend!
We´re gonna record our second album starting at the end of February on the finish island “Hailuoto“. Producer will be Jürgen Hendlmeier who already recorded “Patience Camp”. The island is very small but beautiful, because nature up there will be stunning. People are driving motorslides and travelling over an official ice-route over the Baltic Sea to get to the next bigger town: Oulu. This town is not only famous for the yearly Airguitarworldchampionship, Tusq will also play a show there on 17th of March at Club 45 Special. We´ll keep you posted – exciting, exciting!
Wir waren eingeladen zwischen den Jahren das Jahresabschlusskonzert von Jupiter Jones in der Kölner Live Music Hall zu eröffnen. Die Jungs haben ja ein Mega-Jahr hingelegt und allen Grund zum Feiern und zur großen Party uns und Casper eingeladen. Wir feiern übrigens heute auch: Live-Premiere mit neuem Bassisten Gnill, der einen 1a-Einstand aufs Parkett legt. Die Nacht wird zu einer einzigen Riesenparty an deren Ende sich die Gruppe Tusq in ihre Einzelteile zerlegt wiederfindet. Danke Köln, danke Jupiter Jones, danke 2011, herzlich willkommen Gnill – Feuertaufe bestanden, wir freuen uns sehr, dass du dabei bist. Ihr anderen rutscht gut rein, 2012 kann kommen, ihr werdet von uns hören…
We got invited to play in Cologne where Jupiter Jones put on their traditional year-closing party at the Live Music Hall. At the same time this show was the premiere of our new bass-player. His name is Gnill and he did a great job. We´re happy to have him onboard. We wish you all a Happy New Year, we´re awaiting 2012!
Here is a little video-documentary about our trip to South America in October. This was also the last tour with our bass-player Paul who left the band for good after this. Thanks to him for the great company and also everybody who helped us in Brazil & Argentina, especially the guys of Eletrofan, Andre & Nitrominds and Seba from D.O.G. who set up everything. And of course everybody else who came to see the shows and supported us in any way. It was a blast. Hopefully we´ll be back soon!
While we are still licking our wounds our thoughts always go back to the great tour in Brazil. We had the great opportunity to perform live at two great websites: TV Trama and Estudio Showlivre. Check out “Fortune” featuring Eletrofan @ TV Trama and “Urban Spaces” @ Estudio Showlivre.
On our way back from Argentina we almost lost our flight to Sao Paulo when we arrived by bus in Buenos Aires from Rosario. The city was covered in volcanic ash from the Puyehue volcano who just broke out in Chile. What a shock, what a nightmare! But wondrously our flight was the only one that wasnt cancelled so we arrived in time in Sao Paulo to catch our flight back to Europe. Thanks to Aerolinas Argentinas. Mission accomplished! Now we will withdraw from playing live for a while and start working on the 2nd album. Thanks to everybody for an amazing time in the “Patience Camp”. We are very curious what the future will bring. Definitely stay tuned for some nice videos from Brasil, we’ll keep you guys posted!
We go in a very comfortable interstate bus to Rosario. When we hit the town we immediately feel home. All the guys welcome us like old friends and the atmosphere is tranquillo. After soundcheck we are invited to a superb argentinian barbecue at the house of All The Hats bassplayer Matias. Show starts very late again but the atmosphere is fantastic. A big thanks to all the Argentinian people who took such good care of us especially to Seba & Sebastian who drove our asses around. We wanna come back!
After 2 relaxing and rainy days in Santos with lots of food we’re leaving Brazil for Argentina. What a welcome to Buenos Aires! The cabdriver speaks fluent german and gives us a little sightseeing tour, the people at the hostel are supernice and the neighborhood of San Telmo very charismatic. We have the best steak of our lives! Show starts ultra-late, like 02:30, people love the show, lots of Jägermeister, räämäläämädindong at the other end of the world!

Our final show in Brazil before we are heading to the beach. 2 offdays in Santos! TV Trama is a very famous studio in Sao Paulo with the finest equipment, established in the 70ies. They own a Nive mixing-desk, acutally that one on which Metallica recorded the “Black Album”. Here and then they have bands play live in their recording room and stream it to the internet. By the way the recording room is a 1-1 copy of the one at Abbey Road Studios in London. It´s an honour for us to play here. Fantastic sound, fantastic guys!
