Mittlerweile verfliegt die Zeit und wir haben noch einiges aufzunehmen. Hauptbeschäftigung zur Zeit: Gitarrenrecording, Lost (Staffel 3), Sauna und Kochen. Highlight des Wochenendes: Holger Lüken gewinnt den lokalen Karaoke-Contest in der Bar Haiku durch eine überzeugende Performance des Songs „Help“ von den Beatles.

Meanwhile time flies and we still have a lot to record. Main activities at the moment: guitar-recording, Lost (3rd season), Sauna and cooking. Highlight of the past weekend: Holger Lüken wins the local Karaoke-Contest at Bar Haiku with a convincing performance of „Help“ from the Beatles.

Alles klar. Nach einem kleinen Ausflug über die Eis-Straße aufs Festland in die Stadt Oulu am Wochenende realisieren wir langsam, dass wir uns hier so ziemlich am Ende der Welt befinden. Wir genießen geniale Sonnenuntergänge, Spaziergänge übers zugefrorene Meer und die finnische Sauna im Anschluß an die täglichen Aufnahmesessions. Die Basic-Trax von Schlagzeug und Bass sind seit heute fertig. Ab jetzt wird geoverdubbed!

All right. After a short trip over the icestreet to the next mainland town Oulu we start to realize that we´re here at the end of the world. We enjoy amazing sunsets, walks over the frozen sea and finnish sauna after the recording sessions. The basic tracks of drum and bass are done since today and now we can start with the overdubs!

Mittlerweile passen wir uns dem Groove der Insel an und können uns auf die Langsamkeit von Hailuoto einlassen. Schlagzeug und Bass haben bereits die Hälfte der Songs aufgenommen. Außer ein paar Hasen draußen, aufregenden Sonnenuntergängen und tonnenweise Schnee gibts hier nicht viel. Einen besseren Ort konnten wir definitiv nicht wählen, um in Ruhe aufzunehmen. Fast wie Urlaub.

Meanwhile we are getting into the groove of the island and dive into the slowlyness of Hailuoto. Drum and bass have recorded half of the songs. it´s not much here except for some rabbits outside, tons of snow and exciting sunsets. We couldnt have chosen a better place to record. Almost like holidays.

Nach einem langen Reisetag per Zug, Auto, Flugzeug und Fähre sind wir auf der kleinen Insel „Hailuoto“ angekommen. Auf den Bildern seht ihr unser kommendes Zuhause für die nächsten 4 Wochen, wo wir mit Jürgen Hendlmeier unser zweites Album aufnehmen werden. Unfassbare Idylle hier, direkt am bottnischen Meerbusen unterm Leuchtturm. Ab jetzt wird aufgebaut und soundgecheckt. Wir sind begeistert!

After a whole day of travelling including car, bus, train, plane and ferry-boat we reached the small island of Hailuoto. This is going to be our home for the next 4(!) weeks to record our 2nd album together with Jürgen Hendlmeier. Today we start to set up and soundcheck. We are thrilled!

Ende Februar ist es so weit. Wir werden ein zweites Mal nach Finnland fliegen, um das nächste Album aufzunehmen. Das Studio liegt diesmal etwas weiter nördlich, auf der Insel „Hailuoto„. Die ist mit 35 Quadratkilometer Grundfläche recht überschaubar und wird von 1000 Menschen bewohnt. Dort werden wir mit „Patience Camp“ – Produzent Jürgen Hendlmeier 10-12 neue Songs einspielen. Wir stecken gerade mitten in den Vorbereitungen und freuen uns jetzt schon megamäßig auf die spektakuläre Natur. Das Haus liegt direkt am zugefrorenen Meer unter dem Leuchtturm am Ende der einzigen Strasse und zwischen Dezember und März existiert eine offizielle Eis-Strasse, die die Insel mit der auf dem Festland gelegenen Großstadt „Oulu“ verbindet. Dort findet nicht nur die alljährliche Luftgitarrenweltmeisterschaft statt, sondern wir werden dort am 17. März ein Konzert spielen, im Club 45 Special. Wir halten euch auf dem Laufenden – Aufregend, aufregend!

We´re gonna record our second album starting at the end of February on the finish island „Hailuoto„. Producer will be Jürgen Hendlmeier who already recorded „Patience Camp“. The island is very small but beautiful, because nature up there will be stunning. People are driving motorslides and travelling over an official ice-route over the Baltic Sea to get to the next bigger town: Oulu. This town is not only famous for the yearly Airguitarworldchampionship, Tusq will also play a show there on 17th of March at Club 45 Special. We´ll keep you posted – exciting, exciting!

On our way back from Argentina we almost lost our flight to Sao Paulo when we arrived by bus in Buenos Aires from Rosario. The city was covered in volcanic ash from the Puyehue volcano who just broke out in Chile. What a shock, what a nightmare! But wondrously our flight was the only one that wasnt cancelled so we arrived in time in Sao Paulo to catch our flight back to Europe. Thanks to Aerolinas Argentinas. Mission accomplished! Now we will withdraw from playing live for a while and start working on the 2nd album. Thanks to everybody for an amazing time in the „Patience Camp“. We are very curious what the future will bring.
